The Shed Media Group is a leading producer and distributor of audio visual content. The Group makes long-running brands and formats across all media and genres, encompassing scripted, factual, factual entertainment and lifestyle content.
Established in 1998, Shed floated on AIM in March 2005 and de-listed in October 2010 by virtue of a management buy out backed by Warner Bros. International Television Production. Warner Bros. are now the majority shareholders in the Shed Media Group Limited with a significant shareholding retained by management.
Since its inception the Group has grown significantly, with Ricochet, Twenty Twenty, Wall to Wall and in more recent years Shed Scotland, Watershed, Yalli Productions and Renegade Pictures, joining Shed Productions to form the Shed Media Group.
In the US, Shed Media has expanded exponentially. Based in Los Angeles with more than 200 employees, Shed Media US is a significant supplier of TV programming to many networks, including ABC, NBC, Bravo, Discovery, VH1, Animal Planet, CMT, OWN, WE, USA, Lifetime, Tru TV and TLC.
The Shed Media Group retains and exploits its intellectual property throughout the world with all finished tape and format sales being controlled by Warner Bros. International Television Distribution.
Notable highlights in Shed Media’s history include the Oscar and BAFTA winning film Man on Wire, multiple BAFTA winning series The Choir, Waterloo Road, which has recently scooped a National Television Award and Supernanny, holder of multiple awards including the Royal Television Society award.
